Gender Equity Manager Jobs requirements–
- Promote the implementation of Gender (incl. LGBTQI and SGBV) support and prevention programmes in the University for Staff and Students.
- Monitor and evaluate SGBV interventions and the impact in UJ as an institution of Higher Education.
- Address how sexual and gender-based violence intersects with other aspects of identities.
- Ensure that constant and effective awareness is taking place through an effective implementation of designed interventions.
- Promote changes within the institution, the Higher Education Sector and the wider community.
- Investigation and management of all reported cases or rape, sexual assault, sexual harassment, harassment and all forms of discrimination.
- Develop systems for reporting any incidents of discrimination.
- Emergency assistance for rape and sexual survivors in collaboration with PsyCAD and Campus Security.
- Provide effective support, advise and assistance to both complainants and respondents.
- Ensure that prevention programmes and intervention are grounded in best practice.
- Research, apply and promote gender initiatives and share best practice.
- Translate gender equity legislation into practice to ensure UJ meets statutory requirements.
- Write, implement and review policy at institutional level.
